Finally back from Brunei!!!

ahh...it's so nice to be back to Singapore, so nice you can just kiss the first piece of land upon touchdown.lol.the plane left Brunei @ 5.40am and reached within 2 hours. as i looked out when the plane landed, i thought some fire smoked out the airport la.. visibility is so poor out there. after a call from my mum i was told it's due to the burning of some plantation in indonesia that caused the haze. what a day to land @ s'pore man. anyway i just want to get home so the haze dun really bother me. visited the DFS after collecting my baggage and bought $30 worth of alcohol; an Absolute peach vodka & 3 cans pack of tiger beer classic. just have to buy something since it's my first (commercial) flight experience. haha.
got a pleasant surprise @ the airport, a special appearance. never thought you would be able to wake up that early to make your way to the airport. it's the best that i can ever get. :) had breakfast @ BK and took the bus home, dragging my heavy and bulky roller bag up & down the bus and the overhead bridge. washed up and sent in my dirty clothes into the washing machine, there i went out of the house again. lol. headed for lunch @ Han's with my love one and went straight to dental after that. braces might be out on the next treatment, 4th november.

wad have i been doing in Brunei? let me try to recollect...
Day 1: 17th Sept 06
departed @ 2.30am and landed 2 hours later. took a bus ride to the ferry terminal, consumed my breakfast in the meantime. think it was burger and some nuggets. the ferry ride was around 1hr 30 mins which i slept through entirely under the cold aircon. another bus ride brought us to Laquin. felt like recruits again upon reaching. bleahz. took quite some time to settle down, settling lodging, stores & equipment, uniforms and getting familiar with the place. mp3 player was my main survival tool to kill waiting time. lol. there were banners which wrote WELCOME DRINK & WELCOME LUNCH @ the training shed and cookhouse, which i thought was quite lame. the drink was root beer w/o the gas but with grapes which tasted very sweet. lunch was reasonably good but i can't remember what was served.had an welcome talk by the camp commander and an introduction of the JCC instuctors around. talked on the phone @ night with my dearest and my mum for 2 mins each cos i was using my buddy's hp. ICC was out of stock.

Day 20: 6th Oct 06
FINALLY!!!!!! getting out of the bloody camp marks the end of everything! finally get to wear civilian, be a civilian again! we left the place at around 6am, took the fast craft from the jetty and headed to another camp, which was the HQ in brunei. laughed my lungs out while watching some ancient movie on the fast craft...lol. at the HQ we settled down in the bunks which was rather cramped but just for the few hours at night. had nasi lemak for breakfast at the camp canteen which tasted quite nice.
left the place for our R&R (a.k.a M&M - mosques & malls ) which started off with a series of mosques, sultan place which had domes made out of 100% gold. it was quite an eye-opener but just that the tour guide din explain much of the places to us, assuming that we're a bunch of crowd that were not interested with the religion, only wanted to watch the movies on the bus. watched stealth and sky captain but only half of it. later we watched John Tucker must die, which my friend bought. had to get off back to camp when the show was about to finish. lol. the lunch and dinner buffet weren't satisfying and of course wad we expected. there din really replenish the food, cant get to eat much and we can only stay for an hour. anyway there wasn't much food to enjoy so the time wasn't the factor.
we visited the water village which was quite amazing. the family we went to shld be quite rich and their house was so big! the kitchen was twice the size of my living room, and there were kids playing PS2. the kuehs they made was also pretty nice. we had time from 3pm to 6pm to walk around the mall which din really had much to see. spent the time eating at KFC, where i bought a 3pc meal that cost only $6.40. spent an hour using the internet which only cost me a dollar. lol. played pool and another mall, called The Mall. haha. spent 2 hours in the room thinking that there shldn't be much to see or buy but in fact many bought cheap dry-fit shirts and soft toys. maybe just too bad i missed the chance but saved some money too. =)
reached back at HQ camp @ 11 pm and took a short nap till 2.30am, fall in to get out of the place! hee.. headed to the airport @ 4 am after various rounds of inspection of our civilian bag to prevent us for bringing any illegal items back to S'pore. And once again i was on the plane, getting back to Singapore!
No More BRUNEI!!!! =)
